Nature Paints

Today is crisp, windy, bright.
Keeping my chimes busy with their lovely tones.
After a soaking rain yesterday and during the night, the leaves are damp, changed, falling, the air full of movement. And for a short while it pulled me out the door to wander... a refreshing experience, whether you are looking at the palette from a distance or viewing the details up close.
To the east, pastels...
and to the west, deeper hues.
But everywhere you look there's art!
Next: my warblers (really!)

  2. Beautiful! I especially like the second one up from the bottom, with the single berry. Also the wind chimes....it captures what it's like here today, too - bright, crisp, and windy!

  3. Hi Tabib. It has been a beautiful autumn. With today's wind, the leaves are falling, falling!

Thanks, Monica. I liked the berry in all that yellow, too, and it was a nice surprise to catch the chimes moving w/o a blur.

  4. Hi Vickie
Well our leaves all fell these past two weeks. So love seeing yours. I wish the colors of autumn could stay with us forever.

    Beautiful photos!!

  5. Thanks for taking me along on your walk. I got wet feet but oh the feast for the eyes and soul were worth it!

  6. You do have a lot of beautiful colour left in your leaves and foilage. Ours in Western Washington State have mostly fallen and look very thin compared to yours. Very beautiful.

  7. Absolutely beautiful hues -- We do not get to see such huge changes being in the evergreen part of the world.

  8. Beautiful colors... I was in Tennessee last year for fall and even though it wasn't a great one, it sure was lovely. I miss it this year.

  9. Hi Tony, good to see you. I think autumn maybe my favorite time of year--though there is something to love about them all. The fall movement and changes are sure an attention grabber.

Arija, I'm glad you enjoyed our walk! Its amazing, how fast the wind dries up the dampness.

Bernie, I think that may have been our last hurrah. I was glad I went out that day. Everything seems to now be November's golds and browns, with lots of leaves on the ground. (But I enjoy that stage too.)

Amila, having grown up in Tennessee, USA, I'm conditioned to look forward to this time of year. I always miss seeing fall here if I happen to be visiting another state.

Good to see you, Michelle. I'm glad you were here to enjoy last year's season. Every year is so different, both the timing and the colors. Its part of the magic.

For the Love of It...

...the sage sees heaven reflected in Nature as in a mirror, and he pursues this Art, not for the sake of gold or silver, but for the love of the knowledge which it reveals.
